Fruits and vegetables are low in calories and high in nutrients that we all need to keep our bodies healthy. Eating a diet high in fruits and vegetables can help to prevent some diseases such as cancer or heart disease. In addition, eating fruits and vegetables instead of food high in calories can help your family to reach your desired calorie balance.
Do one or more of these activities with your family this week:
- Try a vegetable that you have never tried before! Buy and prepare one or two vegetables that you or your kids have never tried before and make the whole family to try it
- Ask your teen to choose and prepare one vegetable for one meal with the rest of the family
- Cut fruit in different shapes. Let each member of the family to create a sculpture to eat
